Pierre Tulowitzki is a professor at the FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. He holds the Chair of Educational Management and School Improvement. His research interests revolve around leadership and innovation in schools. In addition, he is a member of the Institute for Educational Sciences at the University of Basel. His research interests revolve around educational leadership, school improvement and networks in education.

Pierre Tulowitzki is a member of the Executive Board of the International Congress for School Effectiveness and School Improvement (ICSEI). He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Swiss Society for Research in Education and is a Co-Convenor of the Educational Leadership Network of the European Educational Research Association. In addition, he is a member of the following associations:

    German Educational Research Association (GERA/DGfE)
    American Educational Research Association (AERA)

Pierre Tulowitzki has conducted and presented research on many topics from the realm of educational leadership and school improvement reserach. He has spoken at numerous conferences and other academic and public engagements. He serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of several journals (for example the Journal of Educational Administration), as a member of the Editorial Board of Leadership and Policy and Schools (LPS), as a member of the International Editorial Board of Educational Management Administration & Leadership (EMAL) as well as a reviewer for numerous conferences (for example ECER, AERA Annual Meeting, ICSEI).
