This book series provides detailed thematic analyses of the various national education systems in Southeast Asia. There are 11 national education systems in the region (ASEAN country members and Timor-Leste), serving a population larger than either the European Union or North America. Exploring issues within these systems in a way that acknowledges their separate identities while also having regard to their common aspirations is essential to the future well-being of education in Southeast Asia. The book series will privilege a comparative perspective, drawing attention to national imperatives within the context of broader regional needs. This approach will provide a new direction for scholarly analysis of issues in education across the Southeast Asian region.
