Many of the natural products have been isolated and characterized from the actinobacteria for example ployketides, phenazines, peptides, indolocarbarbazoles, sterols. To explore new antibiotics from actinobacteria several bioinformatics and synthetic biology tools were developed. This book will cover basics to recent protocols for drug discovery from actinobacteria.

    Features:

    1. Discusses the benefits of production of antibiotics and enzymes from actinomycetes at the large scale.
    2. Covers the synthetic biology approach.
    3. Describes the strain improvement of actinobacteria.
    4. Gives information on basic isolation of actinobacteria and modern techniques.
    5. Covers the applications and metabolic engineering strategies of actinomycetes.
