Biography
Rada Varga is Junior Researcher at Babeș-Bolyai University and holds a MAin classics (2007) and a PhD in ancient history (awarded in 2012, Summa cum
laude). Her scholarly interests are focused on (digital) epigraphy, Roman social history and ancient population studies. During recent years she has undertaken extensive
research on epigraphic habits and worked on prosopographic reconstructions,
for the elites, as well as for the middle classes. She is and has been a team member
in numerous national and international projects - data on her current project can be found at romans1by1.com. She has been the beneficiary of a Fritz Thyssen Stipend (2015-2016), a residence scholarship granted by the Fondation Hardt (2014), a DAAD scholarship at the Kommission für Alte Geschichte und Epigraphik München (2011) and more national scholarships.
