Marjorie Schuman, Ph.D.
Marjorie Schuman, PhD specializes in a mindfulness-informed, psychodynamic, and relational approach to psychotherapy which blends the knowledge of contemporary psychoanalysis with the wisdom of Buddhist psychology. Currently in private practice, Dr. Schuman also serves on the faculty of the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies. She is a long-time practitioner of Buddhist Vipassana meditation and co-founded The Center for Mindfulness and Psychotherapy in Santa Monica.
Biography
PERSONAL STATEMENTFrom as early as I can remember, I felt drawn to and compelled by the mysteries of consciousness. Inquiring deeply into these questions has been the unifying theme of my life. Psychoanalysis and meditation have been the twin cornerstones on this personal as well as professional path.
