Dr. Leung has been a Visiting Scholar of School of Journalism and Communication, Tsinghua University, China and spent one year in Beijing between 2011 and 2012. She is also an active member of international associations like the International Communication Association and Chinese Communications Association and professional associations like Hong Kong Journalists Association for many years. She is active in knowledge exchange both within and outside Hong Kong.

Biography

Dr Leung worked in The Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) as an assistant director for educational TV production and the Office of Student Affairs of the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a university administrator before joining the academia.  Apart from teaching, she is also actively involving in the public sphere as a media critique. She was frequently interviewed by the local and international media organizations on issues related to media regulation, media industries and public broadcasting.

Areas of Research / Professional Expertise

    Dr. Leung’s research concentrates on three major areas: Asian communications regulation and policy (focusing on Hong Kong and Greater China Region);  Asian communications industries (focusing on converging communications industries in Hong Kong and Greater China Region) and empirical studies of ethical values of Asian students (focusing on Hong Kong and Greater China Region).
