Jim Hemphill is an award-winning director whose films have screened at the Sundance Film Festival, American Cinematheque, and other prestigious venues and film festivals. In addition to his moviemaking endeavors, Jim is a respected film historian whose essays have appeared in the Chicago Reader, Film Comment, Film Quarterly, and elsewhere. He is a researcher at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and has recorded audio commentaries for Indicator, Shout Factory and other DVD labels.
