Hello! I am a professor of translation, specializing in translation technologies such as computer-aided translation (CAT) tools and machine translation (MT). I am especially interested in technologies from a user's perspective, looking at issues such as how does our use of these technologies affect our lives (for better or worse) and how can we interact with these tools to maximize their benefits. Beyond translation technologies, I am interested in translation and language more broadly as well!

Biography

I have been very fortunate to spend time as a visiting professor and researcher at various institutions around the world, including KU Leuven (Belgium), University of Verona (Italy), University of Jyväskylä (Finland), University of Wolverhampton (UK), University of Málaga (Spain), and Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland). In 2020, I was elected to the Royal Society of Canada (Canada's national academy) in recognition of my contribution to translation and translation technology research.
